Security Tips for Your Home

While no one ever deserves to be a victim of a burglary or theft, there are several steps you can take to make your home an undesirable target for thieves.  Most residential burglars devote little time to the advance planning of a specific break-in.  Their crimes are, for the most part, crimes of opportunity.  If after examination a home appears to be a greater risk than initially anticipated, burglars will typically move on to an easier target.

Always remember to call 911 as soon as any suspicious activity is detected.  Do not confront anyone lurking in or around your home, notify the police instead and be a good witness by providing the emergency dispatcher with suspect descriptions and locations.
